The Joy G. Korologos Scholarship
The Washington D.C. Chapter of the BYU Management Society has a strong legacy of supporting Washington area students. Through the generosity of local donors, over one hundred scholarships have been awarded to qualifying undergraduate and graduate students attending the BYU Marriott School of Management. Named in memory of Joy G. Korologos, these scholarships have enabled students the opportunity to complete their studies and go on to make their own contributions in the business world.
Each year the chapter’s scholarship committee selects students with ties to the D.C. area based on such criteria as level of need, service involvement, leadership involvement, and academic standing. The application, available online at the link below, includes essay requirements about students’ professional goals, past service and leadership experiences, and any unusual circumstances. It is especially through the content of these essays that scholarship applicants are selected. You will also be asked to submit a resume.
For the academic year 2015-2016 the committee selected seven students to receive awards ranging from $1,500-$5,000. We look forward to receiving applications for 2016-2017 in the coming months.
